It’s almost every day that we come across new handsets boasting features as good as Apple’s iPhone, but for the majority in the cell phone industry the iPhone hoopla is a nice opportunity to announce their new launches. It’s not that such announcements aren’t sometimes genuine news. Of course, sometimes we can believe such statements to be true, especially when Japan’s biggest mobile phone maker – Sharp Corp – announces to take on Apple’s iPhone with its smartphone featuring a 3D panel that can be viewed without special glasses. Expected to hit the market by the end of this year, the new phone will possibly feature a 3D capable camera. While the technology is still in its infancy, it’s hard to say whether public will embrace 3D handsets outside Japan.
