Hackers and modders have tried almost everything with the Apple iPhone since its launch. Now, Atif Shamin, a PhD student at Carleton University in Canada, has developed a transmitter system on-package that promises to enhance the battery life of mobile devices. By replacing all of the internal wires and PCBs of a device with an antenna, the power consumption for a mobile device can be reduced significantly. Shamin used a high frequency micro-transmitter and receiver that helps to avoid the loss of power through a wire. He did the experiment with the iPhone and increased its battery life by 12 times. That’s simply amazing!
