And just as we finish talking about the China Unicom and Apple deal eternally getting finalized…It is being speculated that China Telecom is planning to offer the Palm Pre to its customers. The Palm Pre has been Apple iPhone 3GS’s only ‘competitor’ in the real sense of the word and since Unicom has bagged the iPhone deal, Telecom is thinking about ways to stiffen the competition. There isn’t much problem, for the Pre already has those CDMA settings going and since China Telecom favours it, Palm could grab a big order soon. Also, what is interesting is that China Unicom hasn’t finalized anything about the 3G S-the newer model, and therefore Palm Pre could benefit in terms of sales from this since it can blow away the challenges posted by the older iPhone.
