This year’s Glastonbury Festival of Contemporary Performing Arts is all set to witness a first-of-its-kind eco-initiative that might as well revolutionize visitor services at other festivals across the globe. Thanks to a seven-meter high recharge Pod tent, customers using Orange mobile will be able to recharge their cellphones with solar and wind-generated electricity. The tent will feature 500-watt solar panels and a 500-watt wind turbine to cater to over 100 devices per hour. The best part about this facility is that you don’t have to wait around for your phone to juice up as you can simply slot it in a mini locker and take the key along with you while you go sightseeing for 45 minutes. Now that’s what I call service and I would love it if things like this made to other large scale gatherings.
