Nokia C2-02

Nokia C2-02

Nokia C2-02 offers a bit of everything you expect from a latest mobile phone. It is not an advanced device like a Nokia Lumia 800 or a Blackberry smartphone, but it is certainly not as dull as you might believe a low budget mobile phone to be. Priced at around Rs 3,800, this compact phone packs some of the best niceties built-in a Nokia phone. It will come handy if you are hooked for lifetime to your social networks. The touch sensitive screen and a typing keypad beneath the slider allows instant email and messaging. Besides, there are a load of apps available from the Nokia Store, a handy camera for photos and videos, music player and Nokia maps to guide you while cruising across a new place.

Performance

The C2-02 provides a familiarity and ease of use for those who have already enjoyed the company of a Nokia phone. The call quality, volume levels for music and radio and the performance of the user interface are up to the mark. A few users have, however, noticed distortion in the audio quality during sudden volume changes. The web browser doesn’t hang while loading complex websites. Also, the battery works fairly with 8.75 hours of talk time and about 17 days of stand-by.

Features

Nokia C2-02 offers a Touch and Type user interface which offers a key pad functionality along with a touch display. It supports dual-band GSM and comes with a 2 MP Camera along with 32 GB of extendable memory. The operating system consists of a Symbian S 40 and it connects to internet via GPRS/Edge and a pre-installed Nokia web browser. It comes with a 2.6-inch display, which is fairly large for viewing and sharing photos and videos. Some other prominent features include Apps for Facebook, Twitter, Flicker, FM radio, media player, push mail, Bluetooth 2.1 and a voice recorder. The compact phone also packs a stylus for working on the touch screen.

Design

The C2-02 is designed to give least worries to the traditional Nokia users while switching to a new phone. Appearing like a revised edition of an old Nokia phone, the C2-02 appears attractive for the starters. Rounded edges like a candy bar has been retained. The LCD transmissive-based display provides attractive imagery on the screen. It provides a resolution of 240×320 pixels along with decent viewing angles. However, the small screen size may be a subject of dislike to many. The left side of the phone features a microSD slot while the right side features a microUSB slot. There are a few dedicated hardware keys for call creation, call termination, volume and locking. While the headphone jack and charging pot lie on the top, the bottom of the phone features a dpad below the screen and two soft keys.

Bottomline

The C2-02 is essentially a budget phone for the starters who are looking for web browsing, camera and basic telephonic facilities. It would be worthless to draw comparisons with any high-end smartphone available in the market today. This would explain the lack of 3G, Wi-Fi, Flash in camera etc. Nevertheless, it is still a robust handset with quality sound, pre-loaded games, web browsing and stylish appearance at a reasonably low price.
