Designer: Microsoft

Product Description: Though most of us have seen a phone being able to function like many other gadgets, we still have not seen a gadget that could also function like a phone. Microsoft’s new patent concerns a modular lego-like GPS navigator that also comes with an attachable phone, camera and many other functions. The slim and efficient GPS navigator would have a big touchscreen, battery, GPS, CPU, memory and other necessary chips and software. it would have external modules for phones, modem, camera, card reader, additional power pack etc.

What’s Innovative: The design is not exactly innovative, as Modu has already been working on it from sometime. However, such a phone still has not arrived in the market and it would be interesting to see how it works.

About the Designer:
Microsoft is a strange name to be associated with cellphones. Nevertheless, looks like they want to enter the cellphone market as well and if they decide to adapt their mobile OS, it would be interesting.
