“All Microsoft employees get a free Windows Phone at launch.” Did Microsoft really just said that? Well, if this is true, the above statement would mean a free Windows Phone 7 device to all 90,000+ employees.
Here’s an internal email from Andy Lees, Microsoft’s Senior VP of mobile stuff:
With all the buzz, a lot of you are asking how you can get your hands on a phone and get more involved. So, I am thrilled to announce that a new Windows Phone 7 will be made available to every Microsoft employee as we launch in each market around the world. The process will vary based on your market, your carrier, and your launch date so stay tuned for more information closer to launch.
Hope the move’s going to appease all those hard working employees at Microsoft who got offended when two high school students grabbed the world’s first Windows Phone 7 handsets even before the launch. Oh wait, is recession really over?
