LG has always brought us the latest technology at affordable prices. LG Optimus Me P350 is the perfect answer to the needs of the smartphone market. It has a young vibrant look with a variety of colors available – pink, gray, red, black and blue. The phone is perhaps the answer to the other relatively low priced smartphones in the market. While it doesn’t boast the best of specifications, it is the perfect choice for those looking for a smartphone and not really willing to pay a lot. The Android 2.2 OS and an added 2 GB memory card make this phone an affordable alternate to the Samsung Galaxy models. Priced at Rs. 7112, it is loaded with features like multimedia, messaging, data and internet connectivity, etc.
The LG Optimus Me P350 maybe low on the design aspect but it is the best value for the money in terms of performance. The Android 2.2 OS ensures efficient performance and the inbuilt AGPS and e-compass help you connect with the latest apps available in the Android Market. Another performance plus is the 3 MP camera, a perfect add-on to capture the favorite moments and share them online as soon as possible. The battery life is indeed commendable with a standby time of upto 320 hours and a talking time of up to 3 hours 35 min. The following pre installed apps come with the phone at the time of buying – Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Google Talk. The pros and cons clearly goes in favor of the affordability and value for money.
The model, also known as LG Pecan, comes with a Document viewer and NDTV active features. One of the best network options, the PC sync, is also present in the handset. LG Optimus Me P350 comes with a GPS navigation system that helps you navigate the city you live in. The model offers a very fast downloading ability, thanks to the 3.6 HSDPA at 3G internet connectivity. Other network connection features include Wi-Fi 802, 11 b/g and Wi-Fi hotspot in the Wireless LNA connections. It has many media features as well like music and video player with a stereo FM radio with RDS. Camera features include Image Editing, Color Effect, White Balance, Self Timer, auto focus and LED flash. The VGA video capturing facility makes videos with high detail. The 2G networks are GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900, the 3G networks are HSDPA 900 / 2100 and HSDPA 850 / 1900.
As a first impression, the LG Optimus Me P350 seems pretty heavy for such a tiny handset. It doesn’t look like the designers worked very hard on the thickness and the weight aspect of the phone. A 2.8 inch LCD display having 240×320 pixel resolution being heavier than other 4 inch screens in the market is not good news. The touch screen has a capacitive touch; the resolution however is not a great asset and makes readability and brightness difficult. While the four capacitive Android navigation buttons below the display are not very sharp, the elongated key below them is a good change. The design is not one of the strongest qualities of the phone but perhaps the affordable price makes the design slightly bearable.
While the design flaws might outweigh the price advantage for LG Optimus P350, the features like messaging, email, Instant Messaging helps you stay in touch with your friends on the go. The external memory is extendable up to 32 GB. Its 3MP camera helps capture images and the Internet connectivity helps you share it as soon as possible. The design may not make it seem like it is worth it but the affordable price and the software efficiencies and the accessories make this phone a worthy opponent to the other smartphones in the market.
