Japanese company NEC and mobile operator NTT DOCOMO announced a new model, N706iII amadana which supports hi-tech functions such as HSDPA, embedded digital TV tuner, support for wireless payments, ability to use two numbers simultaneously etc. The phone has a 3″ LCD screen and also has a built in currency converter and displays 262 thousand colors. However, it only has a 2-mega-pixel camera and is scheduled to be released on August 30. We wonder why these Japanese phones are so elusive in the west and only the Japs get to enjoy such advanced technologies. Hopefully, we may soon start seeing Japanese phones elsewhere too.
