To remain afloat in this competitive world different companies are arriving with new attractive plans to lure customers. O2 is no different, it had already outwitted its rivals in the UK by being Apple’s exclusive network operator in the country, and now it is coming with new offerings for the upcoming 3G iPhone. There is rumor that it will offer a free iPhone to new customers in UK who signs up for its most expensive tariff plan that is ₤75 per month. For existing iPhone customers, O2 is believed to offer them free upgrade to iPhone 2.0 only if they agree to extend their contract by another 18 months. There is also another report about O2 selling the iPhone in the UK on a pay-as-you-go basis with the ₤269 iPhone being offered without any contract and an 18-month contract will be required to be signed by customers who would like to pay ₤100 for the iPhone. Now it is left to the customers to decide what they want to do with their iPhones.
