Is Nokia Aeon Becoming A Reality?

aeon2 48 FkYlp 7548Nokia has already joined the green brigade and is on its way to present the first fuel cell phone. The Nokia Aeon has finally come out of the concept stage to the real world according to NetEase, a Chinese website. Nokia Aeon’s concept was to develop a mobile phone with two touch-sensitive panels divided by a solid metal piece powered by fuel cell. The most amazing feature of this phone is believed to be its virtual buttons that could change their focus in different situations, becoming a numeric key pad for dialing, a test-entry pad for messaging and a media-player controller.

Fuel cell is considered a viable alternative to the traditional lithium powered phones helping to reduce pollutants in the atmosphere. The greatest advantages of fuel cells are that they are powered by easily available sources of energy namely hydrogen or methanol and produce only carbon dioxide, water, and heat as waste products. If Nokia Aeon becomes commercially viable, then perhaps other mobile phone companies will follow the suit.
