IBM to cross-pollinate with Apple, will launch Lotus Notes for iPhone

IBM Lotus Notes Application for iPhone
In a move to take on Microsoft’s supremacy in the personal computer market, IBM will release a version of Lotus Symphony for Macs at the Lotusphere Conference, which will be held in Orlando next week. Lotus Symphony will be a free productivity package consisting of a word processor, spreadsheet application, and a presentation application based on Open Document Format.

Still some details on this hi-tech Lotus Symphony are not very clear, but IBM has promised to release a new version of Lotus Notes Email application for both iPhone and iTouch, which will make use of IBM’s Domino Email server program. While the Symphony is aimed at Microsoft, this new version application is aimed directly at RIM’s Blackberry and other business-oriented phones. This new software will be priced at $39 for new users, while it still will be free for current users.
