The i-mate Ultimate 8502 is here and the Ultimate series seems pretty good as of now. The Ultimate series seems to be more the one that caters to those who are eternally plugged in to the net and have varied business applications. The phone looks quite a piece with a very slim body design and a wonderful design that would make it a perfect match for the tuxedo you are wearing of the next board meeting that you wish to attend. The phone is light, slim, and compact and has the classical solid look to it.
The Ultimate 8502 sports a slim line QWERTY keyboard form factor. It features a 2.6-inch touchscreen with 65k color TFT backlight, and comes fully loaded with Microsoft Office Mobile. You can also access a variety of applications like Word, Excel and PowerPoint on your fingertips. There is built-in GPS navigation functionality plus you can play video clips directly. The device also supports a variety of music file formats on the inbuilt Windows Media Player 10 Mobile media player. All this should obviously not come as a surprise to anyone.
It comes with WiFi and Bluetooth 2.0 EDR and has a 2.0 Megapixel camera with fixed focus and LED flash. It weighs in at 140g with battery pack. (That sounds so much like a weigh-in before a boxing contest). The phone seems akin to my Moto Rokr E6 in the dimensions, design and the touchscreen. Obviously there is the keypad and the LED Flash that come extra. While it is surely the better phone when it comes to office applications, Rokr rocks in case of entertainment. Moreover it weighs 140gm; a bit too heavy if might say so.
