After overcoming all the obstacles, Google’s ambitious plan to digitize world’s books has now made it to your Google Android devices with the launch of new mobile phone app – Nook for Android. Available in the Android Market for free, the new app gives you full access to Barnes & Noble ebook content. Google used Optical Character Recognition (OCR) technology to transform the scanned book pages into screen-friendly text for iPhones and G1s. While the move is sure to threaten Kindle and ebook reader, it’s still a great achievement in making the world’s information universally accessible.
