Delays in launch date aren’t anything severely uncommon for cell phones because the service providers assess the market conditions to the max before making sure that the phones hit the shelves. But when it comes to something as popular as the 3G enabled phones, the news of their delay can be disheartening for a change. AT&T has gone ahead and made clear that it would delay the launch of the 3G enabled BlackBerry phone until August this year.
The phone which would come with the dubbing Meteor was due for a launch in June and this subtle change has now gone ahead and pepped the rumours for an early release of the 3G iPhone. Releasing two highly anticipated versions at one go wouldn’t have been the wisest of things to do for AT&T but whether this was the cause for the delay isn’t yet confirmed by the service provider. I don’t think though that RIM would be too pleased with delay of their version of the 3G enabled phones while the people at Apple would have already started celebrating.
