Vodafone is now tension free as now Taiwan based company, Asustek Computer is ready to begin the mass production of the v1520 smartphone for Vodafone. The production of the v1520 smartphone is the extension of the collaboration between two companies.
The touchscreen Pocket PC phone, the Vodafone v1520 is featured with 3.5″ screen and its is designed for line of business applications and navigation. Based on Windows Mobile smartphone, the Vodafone v1520 will run on a Marvel PXA 270 platform. The Vodafone v1520 is featured with triband GSM/GPRS/EDGE at 900/1800/1900 MHz, singleband UMTS at 2100 MHz, Bluetooth and WiFi. In addition, the phone also supports an integrated GPS receiver and 2 megapixel camera.
Currently, Vodafone is outsourcing the production of its branded smartphones from High Tech Computer (HTC) and China-based Huawei Technologies.
