Is there an alternate dictionary/texting program you can install and try out like you would try out a different keyboard or swype? The HTC Verizon 4g phone seems to be very forceful with its choices. I have turned off word replacement but it still wants to change ‘gmail.com’ to ‘mail.com’ every time. any help?
