Of all the clamshell designs you have witnessed, there aren’t many that can become completely flat when open. As far as I remember, there isn’t a single name which comes to mind other than this Feutrefon Feltphone. It is a concept phone designed by Matthias Pugin who used leather and felt on the cocoon to give it form. The keypad is also interesting as it has keys that resemble the ones found on a touch platform. The leather is used as a surface and other materials used include a velcro washer and laser-cut felt. As the image atop depicts, this phone is available in three colors. Just like all those ill-remembered names, this concept also might go down the dumps of time as forgotten, but who knows this ‘absolutely flat’ quality may be adored by a big moniker.
