Cell phone makers had been targeting primarily the young tech savvy users for a long time, but now it seems that they are shifting their focus on a lower age group that is the school-going children. According to Verizon Wireless, the newly launched Blitz has been designed and equipped for school students in the US. Now, should parents have any objections to purchase the $69.99 phone for the kids? With the possibility of turning on the Blitz location sharing application, Chaperone Child service, to track your kids on-line, parents should have no objections with the Verizon Blitz.

The other features of the phone include slide-out QWERTY keyboard, a 2.2-inch 220×176 pixels screen of 262K colors, 1.3MP camera, Bluetooth, mobile email and IM support, music player compatible with V CAST Music with Rhapsody, VZ Navigator, microSD memory card slot, voice commands, calculator, calendar, alarm clock, 1000 phone book entries, 280 minutes of talk time and 280 hours of standby time. Given the low cost and the chic look of the Pantech designed Blitz phone along with its multiple functions, if not for the kids then parents can have one for themselves.
